Memphis was my last city on the Southern Journey. Whew! And, as on my previous two tours if my memory serves me, I just wanted to take it easy and get home. So, I did not do a lot of active recruiting of subjects but I did take in some Memphis barbeque at Corky’s and traveled to Arkansas to visit a casino and watch NCAA basketball March Madness. It also allowed me to check off a visit to Arkansas.

Like all other cities about which you read that physical safety is a major concern, if you have your wits about you and travel in the daytime, the threat is mostly much ado about nothing. And so it was, in Memphis.

Well, I am done here. My journey to the south was memorable to be sure. I had three people buy me meals, something that did not happen on the previous tours. Southern hospitality? I learned a lot and met some great people. And, the journey was 5,178 miles.
